Holm Wedding Inspired 9.24.16
Robin Holm and Ciera Griffin... a match made in Heaven AND they're gorgeous, I mean, REALLY gorgeous. Don't believe me? Just wait.. you'll see.
The day was a dream. The wedding was held at Hathaway Ranch in Bakersfield, California on a crisp September day. Ciera's dress was so elegant, and fit her body so perfectly. Her well put together up-do was the perfect look. She wore cowboy boots that peeked out of her dress with each step she took. All of her bridesmaids followed suit.
But, let's get to the real reason you're here, the photos.
"Cowboy boots and flowers are a girl's best friend."
...okay I just made that up. But still, they're pretty great.
Her mama and her maid of honor helped her with the big moment... putting on the dress.
The emotions through out the entire wedding day were so intense, and capturing those moments are where my heart is at. One of my favorite things to photograph is the bridal party seeing the bride for the first time in her dress.
Cause let's get real, seeing your best friend in a pretty white dress about to get hitched brings on some tears.
Weddings bring together friends. True, honest, authentic friends. I mean how lucky could you be to get your very best friends all together for a day to celebrate YOU! Well Ciera and Robin each had nine loved ones on either side of them all day, loving and supporting them.
And plus... what's better than super hero shirts!?
Remember when I was talking about how gorgeous they were!? Yeah... told you.
The bridal party seeing the bride in her dress for the first time is pretty awesome... but what is even better is the first look with the father of the bride. Oh man, let the tears flow! I don't think there was a dry eye when this moment happened. And I'm pretty confident if her dad didn't have his handkerchief with him all day, his face would have just stayed wet with his tears. His love for his daughter was so incredibly evident.
It was beautiful. Truly.
And of course... what's a wedding without some smooching!? The first kiss ladies and gents! And a pretty proud groom!
Now this is one of my all time favorite parts of the day. The time where my creativity gets to run free and the raw emotions of the newlyweds runneth over.
Be still my heart, the portraits...
One word... "Dayyyyuuummmm!"
Hathaway Ranch was a gorgeous venue to shoot at, but I wholeheartedly believe that Robin and Ciera were the ones who made it spectacular that day.
I'm just wondering where they modeled at in their past life... because I didn't even have to give them much direction, they just did it. They just loved on one another, and it was beautiful.
Oh yeah, and the sunset too. Like come on... I can't get over these photos.
Oh, did I mention that I love veils!? Yeah, because I'm obsessed with them. If you're unsure on whether or not to wear one, do me a favor, and DO IT.
You can't make up this kind of passion.
And then there was cake. But there wasn't just cake... there was a plethora of other desserts that were to die for.
And then every wise person in the world said, "Let them eat cake!"
Their first dance was "Never Stop" by Safety Suit. It was such a perfect song to represent the love that we all got to witness that day.
Their DJ was one of the best DJs I have ever seen at a wedding. He got the guests to not only dance, but he got them to PARTY.
Saturday, September 24th was one for the books. From the beginning of the day of getting ready, to the very last hours of dancing at the reception, every single detail was beautiful. Her dress, the super hero shirts, their vows, their family, the wedding party, the laughter, the sunlight, the weather, the food, the music, the dancing... their love. Perfect.
So here's to you Mr. and Mrs. Robin and Ciera Holm! Thank you for trusting me to capture these memories for you to have forever. Congratulations on your new adventure of marriage. I pray you two will never forget the undeniable love you have for one another that is so evident in these photos. You two have a lifetime ahead of one another, and I'm glad I was able to capture the beginning of it.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
