Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently given answers.

What kind of photography do you specialize in?

I like to consider myself a "wedding and lifestyle portraiture photographer." Weddings and engagements have my heart and is probably my favorite thing to shoot. I love the thrill and excitement of a wedding day. I love following a timeline and the anticipation before a big moment that I have to capture. I love it all and it fills my spirit.

I also really love anything "lifestyle." That means more of an "in the moment" type of photography. So I would much rather take photos of a family all laughing together on their couch, than posing perfectly on some rock in a park. I love photos that depict a story and have a memory attached to them. I want all of my images to depict authentic emotion and real moments.

Do you have a studio or use flash?

Generally, no. Again, I love real moments. Real moments don't have flashes firing off in your face every second unless you're like Beyonce or something. So I use natural light to give you images like you remember them. I want your friends and family to see your photos and feel like they were there. I want your photos to look real, authentic, natural: Images like you're looking through a window.

The only times that I do use a flash are if the reception or event runs late into the evening, and it only makes sense to fill the darkness with some light.

What should I wear to my session?

Well if I'm photographing your wedding... then you should know.

But for all of my other sessions, I've created a Pinterest page to give you some outfit and color ideas for every season of the year. Check that out here.

Weddings: These days are unique and special. It's your one wedding day and that means that I'm playing an important role in capturing that; I don't take that lightly. I try to make myself as much in the background as possible (it helps that I don't have flash!) and I do my best to blend in. Obviously when it comes to the family sessions, portraits, and what not, my presence is known, but other than that I blend in. I make sure that the couple is happy and getting any and every shot that they want because, it's their day! I let the overabundance of love and excitement of the day guide me in photographing the wedding. I love to photograph the wedding through the eyes of a guest: natural and in the moment.

Portrait Sessions: Our time together is more of a conversation and "hanging out" over anything. I walk with you, talk with you, get to know you, and I let the session flow naturally. I will of course help you feel comfortable when it comes to how you're standing or where to put your hands, but for the most part I focused on a very un-posed, real time together. I make sure you feel comfortable which results in an easy-going session filled with lots of laughs.

What can I expect during my session?

Weddings: You can expect your images within 4-8 weeks after your wedding, however I do my absolute best to get them to you ASAP. You can definitely expect a few sneak peeks on social media before then too! You will get an online gallery with all of your images to share with friends and family as well as an "Archer Inspired Wedding Box." In this box will have your USB with all of your images as well as a few other gifts. To know what those are, I guess you'll just have to book me! ;)

Portrait Sessions: You can expect your photos within 2-3 weeks after our session, however I try my best to get them to you as soon as possible. You will receive your images via an online gallery.

What can I expect after my session?

Weddings: For a full day wedding you can expect to receive anywhere from 300-500 carefully curated and edited images. However, I believe wholeheartedly in giving you images that you will love and not sticking within a certain quota. Therefore, each wedding fluctuates in how many images you will receive.

Portrait Sessions: An hour long session you can guarantee a minimum of 30 images, but I almost always go over that. I never really have a limit on how many photos you will receive. I believe in giving the best of the best images to my clients. So that means I won't hold any photos back that I think you will love and are within my photographic standards. I believe in sharing my art with others, and this is how I do that. Your images will be delivered to you in an online gallery where you can download and print as you wish.

How many photos can I expect?

Yes! I'm originally from Bakersfield, but currently live in the Bay Area. Therefore I travel frequently between the two and make stops all up and down California. But if you have a session or wedding you're wanting me to photograph outside of California, then let's go! I'd love to capture your memories wherever you want them!

Do you travel for weddings and sessions?

The images you receive are individually edited for color and exposure. Additional retouching may be available for an additional fee. However, if you take a look at my galleries you will find that my images don't really reflect retouching, so I don't believe that you would feel that you need it.

Do you offer retouching?

YES PLEASE! I love seeing my work and your memories be shared across social media! And I would absolutely love if you would tag me! @archer_inspired.

Can I share my images on social media?

Right here! I offer professional, heirloom quality prints and products available for purchase. I custom make beautiful flat lay albums that are professionally printed by some of the Nation's finest print labs. You are even able to order prints directly from your online gallery, making the process incredibly quick and easy to navigate.

However, if you did not want to go that route, I do include a print release with all of my images that I provide for you. This allows you to print wherever you wish. Just please, stay away from drugstores or cheap printing places. My soul cries when my photos get printed through Walmart or CVS.

I want an album and prints, where do I go for that?

First things first, YAY! I'm so excited to be working with you! After you pick your package or session you are wanting to book, I will send over a contract for you to sign. Upon signing the contract a non-refundable retainer is due to reserve your date/time.

I want to book you! Now what?

If I could give any piece of advice, it would be to choose your photographer based on their style, not the price tag. 25 years from now, I promise you, you won't look back on your images and wish you didn't spend X amount when you are still in love with your images. If you plan on spending money to have a professional capture your special day, make sure that they are representing your memories accurately and beautifully.

I believe everyone should be able to get the photographer that they truly want. Therefore, I am more than welcome to work within a payment plan that's customized to your needs. I want your entire experience with Archer Inspired to not only be a pleasant one, but an easy and stress-free one as well. Please do not hesitate to ask for a payment plan.

I want to book with you, but I don't think I can afford it. What do I do?

Weddings: If you have a coordinator/planner, put us in contact with them so that we can discuss timelines. Additionally we will also be sending over a questionnaire and shot list to get to know you and your partner better and to make sure we will be capturing every image that you both want.

Portraits: If you have questions regarding what to wear, let me know! I love helping my clients with this. Other than that, there's not much planning that goes into the session. We will see you at our scheduled date/time!

We've booked, now what?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love hearing positive feedback, and especially love getting reviews! You can leave one on my Facebook page, Yelp, or on google.

We love your work! How do we leave a review?
